WDW Trip 2017: What I’m Most Excited About

So you all know how excited I am about our next trip to Walt Disney World in 2017. If you don’t know, where have you been?! But seriously, is it just me or do we get more and more excited about Disney as we get older? There’s just something about the nostalgia of it all, being back in my favourite place in the world and the anticipation of it all. I’d love to live in Florida (the partner says we can’t because…cats…I say they would like Florida) but then again, would it diminish the Disney magic? I don’t know. But I do know that I’m excited about these things for our next trip:

Seeing Disney Springs

Disney Springs construction walls

Last time we went to WDW, Disney Springs was still Downtown Disney, although a few construction walls (pictured above, I actually loved these!) were up at the time (and they’re now coming down!). We’ve always loved visiting there for a bit of downtime Disney, like the first day of the holiday or killing time before going home, so I can’t wait to see its new incarnation as Disney Springs.

Disney Parks around the World

Do you know how many Disney parks there are? I’m pretty sure that if you’ve made it to this blog, you’re just about as Disney obsessed as I am so you’re likely to know that there are more than a couple. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if you Disney addicts have already reeled off the list of Disney parks around the world as well as a number of other resorts too!
Nevertheless, despite the fact that I’ve only been to two of the Disney parks (so far!), I wanted to share some more info on the others with you too as it’s on my theoretical bucket list (one day I’ll do a proper one!) to visit every Disney park (and visit all the National Parks in the US, but that’s a story for another day). If you can’t decide which one to visit next or want to know a bit more info on the different parks, this infographic is super handy:

9 Little Known Facts about Mickey Mouse

Little Known Facts about Mickey Mouse

Mickey was a replacement for Oswald

Every big Disney fan I’m sure already knows this one! Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was Walt Disney’s first big creation, in 1927. It wasn’t until 1928 that Walt discovered that Universal Pictures, who his studios were then operating under, owned a lot more of Oswald than he first realised. They had taken on most of his staff under their own contract and retained the rights to Oswald. Walt Disney and a loyal animator, Ub Iwerks, refused to continue working under Universal and created their own replacement for Oswald.

Disney Pixar Tag: My Sister

Beth - Disneyland Paris

So my sister is just as much of a Disney addict as me – that’s her there above. When I started up this blog, I had intentions of getting the whole family involved but thought that they probably wouldn’t do – I can barely tie them down to get photos of my outfits for my other blog! But Beth surprised me by reading my Disney Pixar Tag and deciding to answer the questions herself 😀 I’ve got to say, I’m much more impressed by her answers than mine as they’re far more creative – she always was the creative one in the family. So I’m publishing her answers as well now so you can get an introduction to another Disney obsessed family member – here’s to getting more to of them on the blog!

Disney Eras Tag: The Golden Era (Part 1)

Disney's Golden Era TagThis is an awesome tag started by Scariel’s Grotto that I decided I just had to complete – even if it is a long one that takes up several posts. It passes through all the eras of Disney (read about these here if you’re unfamiliar) from the Golden Age beginning with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and ending with right now, the Revival Era starting in 2010.
Today’s post is all about the Golden Age – the era home to the following films:

And here we go with the questions! I’ve seen The Neverland Mermaid has also completed these too, so take a look at her post too and some others here 🙂
